A homenagem aos mortos é um acontecimento global e é vivido de diferentes formas um pouco por todo o mundo. No México é uma festa bastante divertida, enquanto aqui em Portugal tem um pendor mais triste e saudoso. É um dia em que as pessoas usam para refletir sobre a vida, homenagear os entes queridos com flores e até limpeza dos túmulos. No entanto, também nós começamos a adoptar as celebrações de outros países como os Estados Unidos, onde a tradição de celebração dos mortos ocorre a 31 de Outubro, no Halloween ou Dia das Bruxas. A festa é marcada por fantasias e decorações com abóboras, esqueletos e fantasmas.
Reza a lenda que no dia 31 de outubro a proteção entre o mundo dos mortos e dos vivos está mais fraca, permitindo que os espíritos invadam os corpos e ganhem a vida. Para evitar que isso aconteça, as pessoas passaram a usar fantasias assustadoras, evitando assim que sejam possuídas.

It is a day that people use to reflect on the life, honor loved ones with flowers and even cleaning the graves. However, we also started to adopt the celebrations of other countries like the United States, where the celebration of the tradition of the dead takes place on 31 October, on Halloween. The festival is marked by costumes and decorations with pumpkins, skeletons and ghosts.
Legend has it that on October 31 the protection of the world of the dead and the living is weaker, allowing spirits to invade the bodies and make a living. To prevent this from happening, people began to wear scary costumes, thus preventing be held.
